Cordell Hull's Partner Desk and Other Generous Donation

Many generous and thoughtful people donated books, various Cordell Hull memorabilia, photographs, and late nineteenth century period antiques for the cabin in 2008. We also received an original partner desk that was shared by Cordell Hull and his partner Brad McGinness in their Carthage law office. We send a special thanks to Joe and John Blake, Jane and Grady Moore, Deannie Williams, and Ellen Riley and Dallas Patterson. All of these valuable and useful items have been added to the Cordell Hull Collection and some will eventually put in the archival storage facility that is being built next to the museum. This construction of this exciting project has been funded but is now on hold due to the state budget deficit.

"Cordell" the song by Mark Elliott

Another focus this year will be the launch of an awareness push to get Cordell Hull’s name out there in the minds of the general public. Although Hull was a worldwide leader with a rag to riches story, many citizens, even Tennesseans, are not fully aware of whom this great person was. Using Mark Elliott’s song “Cordell” as well as a letter writing campaign and the development of a teachers’ curriculum, we hope to make some impact in this area. Any ideas or assistance are appreciated with this effort.
